- The Use of Models in ArchitectureArchitectural models are used by architects for a range of purposes and incorporate great means to presenting designs to clients. In architecture, there are many different types of models used for designing and presentations. Exterior Models Exterior models are models of the building, which usually include landscape elements of civic spaces around the building which is being designed. Interior Models Interior models are widely used to showcase interior design space, planning, finishes, colours, furniture, beautification and the basic functions and elements which will be incorporated into the interior of a building. Landscaping Design Models Landscaping design models are models based on landscape designs and development representing features such as walkways, small bridges, vegetation patterns and pergolas. These models usually represent public spaces and may include buildings as well. Urban Models Urban models are mostly built on a much smaller scale than usual scale models. The scale sizes range from 1:500 up to 1:20 000. These scales can represent several city blocks and even a whole town, village, campus, resort, or industrial facility.
